We decided to order from here on a random. It was delivery but it came nice and fresh. The avocado salad with lamb was amazing! The falafal souvlaki was great as well. We will definitely be ordering again soon. I highly recommend.
I was in the mood for Turkish food so I jumped on my favorite app Yelp and I saw the reviews for Grand Sahara. The restaurant has a clean crisp feel, the decor is simple and aesthetically appealing. The temperature inside was cool without being cold which I appreciate. I don't know our server's name but the check was identified as server 12, well, Miss 12 was great, she was friendly and attentive, warm and professional. The food was very good. We ordered lentil soup, fried calamari, lamb dumplings for the appetizers and the salmon kebabs and grilled Branzino both were served with rice and salad. The only thing I would not order again is the lamb dumplings, they were cooked well but lacked flavor. The summary is I would recommend Grand Sahara. Happy dining
Had my daughter's bridal shower in the private room, the food and service was amazing! I highly recommend this place! Will be going back to Sahara for many more parties and have their delicious food! Xena and Tony were great hosts! Thank you Vicky kukaj
We decided to hold our company dinner at this restaurant to break fast with all of our associates. The venue is spacious and can accommodate a large number of people, which was perfect for our group. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure to cater to our needs as they knew we were breaking our fast. The food and appetizers were served promptly, and while we waited for the main course, we opted for the mixed grill family-style option for all of us. Everyone enjoyed their portions and had the opportunity to go back for more while the evening was still young.Unfortunately, our stay was cut short by some rowdy guests, which was a bit disappointing. However, overall, we had a positive experience and would not hesitate to come back again in the future.
Delicious authentic Turkish food. To start, I was thrilled to find out that they had a parking lot in the back. There are no signs letting you know it's ok to park there, they def should have something to make it clear. We started with the platter of many different dips, everything was delicious. Great way to try a variety - served with delicious soft bread. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable explaining the menu. Decided to try the Grand mix grill as it was a nice variety of meat dishes. Delicious and full a flavor. The side salad was outrageous - I wanted a big bowl of it! The baklava was one of the best I've had. Not overly nutty, and not too sweet, very good quality honey and phyllo. Beautiful and comfortable decor. Overall a wonderful experience we will be back!
Great service, was seated quickly on a Saturday afternoon. Waitress was patient with me and my friend as we were just Gabbing our mouths off because we had not chatted in ages. Grand Sahara claims to be the same as the one from Brooklyn on coney island ave that burnt down. I am not sure I even remember to compare. I vaguely recall the dishes having seasoned onion and charred tomato which we did not have this day. The portion were on the small side but still filling. The Shepherd salad with feta was excellent. This is the one item I am certain matched the Brooklyn location. I got chicken beyti kebab which is my fave go-to and it was very good. The rice was delicious. I have nothing bad to say. I even got baklava to go for later on and it was suberb. Air kisses to you all.
Put this restaurant on your must visit list as it is absolutely amazing. Great food, fabulous staff. No complaints
What a gem! Fro realz! Turkish food really kicks ass. This place also does. The cold dip platter was awesome (in the pic)!! And the bread the give u is delicious and light and I wanna marry it!Seriously the smell of bread in this place will make u crazy. Got the gyro and the lamb adana. Meat was moist, perfectly seasoned, and delicious. And was right off the spit!! Not from the freezer. The marinated cabbage was worth a mention as well. Lastly people were nice, place was nice and food was reasonably priced. It's about time Staten Italy got something besides and other pizzeria or a bank!?!? Who the Frock actually goes into a bank anyway.
Decent food; I went here with two people for an early birthday dinner and we really liked the food. The bread that comes with your meal is fabulous and the flavors of the food are generally pretty good, save for the meats which are a little dry. The portions are big and the prices are a little scary, but they have something for every pallet, big or small. The desserts were not bad either. Then when you are finished go to Fort Wadsworth and work off what you just ate.
